Phil Dollman has signed a new two-year deal to remain with the Exeter Chiefs until at least 2017.
The versatile back, who is poised to run out for his 100th league appearance this weekend, joined from the Newport-Gwent Dragons in 2009 and has played an integral part in the recent rise of the Chiefs.
“It’s been a really enjoyable part of my life and a key part of my career, the Chiefs have got the best out of me and I feel like I’ve put everything into the club,” he Dollman.
“I was happy to extend my stay here, I always felt comfortable with that decision, there were never really any other options for me – Exeter was always the place I wanted to stay.”
Head coach Rob Baxter said: “He came in for our final season in the Championship and had a big part to play in the success we had that season.
“He’s someone who has really thrived in the Premiership. I think he’s just about played in every position in the backs and that shows his strength. Some people think versatility can count against you but I think with Phil, because he’s such a good all-round rugby player, we’re very comfortable to pick him in multiple positions.
“It’s no surprise he’s racked up the games thick and fast because he is a quality player.”
The Chiefs also announced that prop Alex Brown will be joining Plymouth Albion on loan immediately.
