As this Saturday’s London Double Header approaches, London Irish players Leo Halavatau, Matt Parr, Luke Narraway, Geoff Cross and Conor Gilsenan were put through a training session like no other by the club’s new sport nutrition partner, Etixx – Belgium’s No.1 sports nutrition brand.
The quintet took on the Scrum Shop – the world’s first vending machine that accepts payment in the form of power – at their training ground and Etixx caught the entire event on camera.
Launching this month, leading sports nutrition brand Etixx developed the Scrum Shop as part of their three-season sponsorship deal with London Irish, which has been announced today. With a complete range of unique and cutting-edge products, the brand aims to support the optimal performance of athletes at whatever level. Building strength is an integral element of this – so the Scrum Shop seemed a perfect way to put the power of London Irish to the test before they open for fans at the London Double Header on Saturday 6th September.
To see if they can ‘Pay with Power’, rugby fans will be able to take on the Scrum Shop at the London Double Header on Saturday 6th September, where it will be located in Twickenham Stoop’s West Car Park between 12 – 6pm. A specially positioned Go Pro will also give fans access to pictures of their ‘scrum faces’ which can be uploaded on to social media using the hashtag #PayWithPower.
Claire Rive, Sports Nutrition National Sales Manager at Etixx said: “Like London Irish, we’re dedicated to delivering great performance, so we’re really looking forward to working closely with the club over the next three seasons.
“Our extensive experience, research and development show that we know exactly what today’s athletes need to supplement their training and aid recovery. All products in our range have been developed and tested with elite athletes across the world, earning respect and recognition in the professional sporting industry.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to challenge the strength and skill of London Irish than with the ‘Scrum Shop’ – and we can’t wait to see fans having a go at Twickenham this weekend.”
