As reported over the weekend, Leicester Tigers have signed All Black lock Brad Thorn.
Thorn, who left the Highlanders last week, will replace the departing Steve Mafi in the Tigers’ outfit despite being on the bring of turning 40.
The veteran lock won the World Cup in 2011, the Heineken Cup for Leinster in 2012 as well as the Super Rugby with the Crusaders.
He also played for Australia in Rugby League and took part in the State of Origin during his time in the other code.
“He is a very driven individual,” said Director of Rugby Cockerill. “He wants to play in the Premiership and he wants to win the Premiership.
“He will turn 40 during the season but if anyone questions his age or commitment, you wait until you meet him.”
