As expected, Jonny Wilkinson will take up a coaching role at Toulon when he retires at the end of the season.
The rugby icon, who will play his last competitive game on Saturday’s French Top14 final against Castres, should start his reconversion as a part-time kicking and skill coach with the double Heineken Champions.
“A person of his stature will undoubtedly bring something more in the frame, it is obvious,” said manager Bernard Laporte.
“He will not necessarily travel with the team all the time because he wants to take a step back at weekends.”
