Harlequins have their destiny in their own hands to reach the Premiership semi-finals after recording a last-gasp 30-29 bonus-point win in Exeter.
Trailing 23-5 just after the break, Nick Evans, Danny Care and Tom Guest all added to Ugo Monye’s first half try to leave Devon with five points in the bag.
They now trail Bath, who they face at The Stoop next Saturday, by only three points meaning they will reach the play-offs if they beat the West Country side while making sure Bath do not pick up both bonus points.
The Chiefs will not play in the newly formed Champions Cup as Wasps, who beat Newcastle on Saturday, will finish 7th and face Top14 side Stade Francais in the play-off for the last remaining spot.
Quins knew they had to win to remain in the race but it did not look good at half-time with them trailing 16-5 thanks to a try from Dave Lewis and 11 points from the perfect boot of Gareth Steenson.
It went from bad to worse at the start of the second as Matt Jess went over to make it 23-5.
Staring down the barrel of the gun, the Londoners rallied and, within 20 minutes, they were only one point behind after tries from half-backs Evans and Care.
Steenson kicked his fifth penalty of the game to give the Chiefs a four-point cushion but, from a clever lineout move with hooker Dave Ward, Guest sealed the win and the all-important try bonus-point.
