Another day and another Wales star is going under the knife for a shoulder surgery, this time hooker Richard Hibbard.
The British & Irish Lions hooker will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery today. With a move to Gloucester at the end of the season, the Welshman had played his last game for the Ospreys.
He is the third Welsh player to undergo a shoulder surgery after Leigh Halfpenny and Sam Warburton.
Medical Performance Manager at the Ospreys Chris Towers confirmed: “Richard has an ongoing shoulder problem that has been troubling him, and after returning to the region this week he feels unable to continue playing. It is in his best interests to get this issue resolved and he will undergo surgery today. The expected minimum recovery time for such a procedure means it is unlikely he will play again between now and the end of the season.”
