Sam Warburton will miss Wales‘ summer tour to South Africa after dislocating his shoulder in the 51-3 win over Scotland on Saturday.
The Welsh captain suffered the injury towards the end of the game in Cardiff and further scans revealed he will require surgery like full-back Leigh Halfpenny.
A statement on the Blues website said: “Following MRI scans and consultations with specialists, Warburton will have an operation and is expected to miss several months of action.
“Everybody at Cardiff Blues wishes Sam and Leigh all the best during their rehabilitation.”
