Tommy Bowe will not be considered for selection by Ireland to face Italy this weekend despite making a two-try return for Ulster.
The Ulster winger, who came back from a groin injury on Friday against the Dragons, has been left out of Joe Schmidt‘s 33-man squad to face the Italians in Dublin.
A statement from Ireland said that Bowe had “tightened up” after 30 minutes on Friday, having scored two tries.
Injury worries Peter O’Mahony and Jonny Sexton are included as is Simon Zebo.
Bowe’s teammate Luke Marshall, who began the opening Six Nations game with Scotland, is ruled out after suffering a concussion in the victory over the Dragons, but Brian O’Driscoll should be fit after overcoming cramp.
