Andy Goode slotted a monstrous last-gasp drop goal to see London Wasps claim a 19-16 win over Exeter at Adams Park yesterday.
Trailing 13-3 at the break scrum-half Joe Simpson first scored a stunning solo try to hand the home side a lifeline before making an incredible try-saving tackle on Henry Slade to keep them alive.
Slade leveled the score at 16-16 with eight minutes to go but Goode’s 45-metre effort stole the show on the last play of the game.
Scrum-half Dave Lewis gave Exeter the best possible start going over in the first minute to see the Chiefs lead 13-3 at the break but a strong second half display from Dai Young‘s side helped them climb to fifth spot in the Aviva Premiership table overtaking Exeter on the way.
