Towering Yorkshireman Tom Burrow has found his calling at Sale Sharks and, after transitioning from the U18s programme, he has his sights set on an England U20s debut.
Burrow says his long and lean stature of 6ft 8in and just over 17 stone frame means he was ‘born to play in the second row’, with an aim to increase his bulk, so that he can go toe to toe with the behemoths of adult rugby.
The 18-year-old was ‘born into rugby’ courtesy of his father Mark, who previously played for Saracens, and Tom therefore was introduced to the sport at the age of four.
