Everybody west of the Tamar, and indeed way beyond, was delighted that Dicky Evans was elevated to Sir Dicky in the New Year Honours list for his lifelong commitment to the county and Cornish Pirates while he has also been a constant support to many charities in Kenya which has become a second home over the decades.
