I miss Austin Healey. There, I said it. I miss his eagle eye spotting stuff I have missed; I miss him questioning a team’s tactics and lambasting players for crass decisions and poor execution; I miss him criticising referees for nonsensical calls or plain incompetence and I miss his shrieks of excitement and admiration when he sees a play or moment of genius. And that includes refs by the way – when an official plays a blinder Austin is lavish with his praise.
