I know paying tax is essential to pay for services that help us all in our daily lives, but I think, without getting too political, the vast majority pay too high a percentage and a minority pay too little. The really well-off can afford to pay accountants to exploit certain loopholes while the rest of us in the middle are left to stump up the shortfall. Things like Inheritance Tax are wrong, full stop. If your family has worked hard all their lives and want to pass on the rewards to you why should the tax man get almost half of it?
TRP verdict: This isn’t a taxing decision at all, it’s a definite yes.
2.‘Man’s jobs’
Now this isn’t a sexist debate in any way, shape or form but I find it intriguing that certain jobs around the house are deemed ‘man’s jobs’ whereas if you dared to describe a task as ‘women’s work’ you’d immediately be in trouble. Putting the bins out, emptying the dishwasher, washing the car, mowing the lawn…have all fallen into the ‘man’s jobs’ category for whatever reason. I thought we lived in a world where everything was meant to be equal now!
TRP verdict: You’re hoovering up with these choices
3.Reality TV
I’ll admit to being guilty of having watched reality TV shows in the past, TOWIE being one, but not anymore. I’ve vowed never to watch them ever again because you can waste so much of your time on a programme that’s not going to improve your life in any way whatsoever. I’ve even tried to persuade my Mrs from watching X-Factor. Instead, I prefer watching stuff like Breaking Bad and Homeland on Netflix.
TRP verdict: The only way is in Room 101
