1. Overcooked steak
I like my steak medium-rare, not oozing with blood but nicely pink. Quite often you’ll get asked how you’d like your steak to be cooked on placing an order at a restaurant only for them to ignore what you’ve said completely and return it well done. I know the lads like to say I’m old before my time but, c’mon, even I draw the line at overcooked steak. Would I send it back? Well, it all depends on what mood I’m in. Normally, like most Brits, I’ll have a private moan and then do nothing about it.
TRP verdict: We’re blood brothers on this one
2. Sky+ fails
I find it immensely frustrating when you’re looking forward to getting home and watching a programme you’ve recorded on TV only to find that the Sky+ function hasn’t done its job properly. The wife and I are big fans of the drama Ray Donovan on Sky Atlantic and seeing the ‘recording failed’ message is a nightmare. I’m not sure what we’d do without Sky+, it’s a great invention – when it does what it’s supposed to do.
TRP verdict: Good point. Sky+ doesn’t always add up
3. Shared Desserts
When the wife and I go out for dinner invariably I’ll order a dessert while she doesn’t. I love a crème brûlée, if it’s on the menu, or a nice cheesecake, and when it arrives I normally end up sharing half of it. My wife likes the pleasure of having the dessert without having the guilt of ordering it.
TRP verdict: Food envy is a terrible thing, you’re in again.
