Conor O’shea praised his team’s winning mentality to keep their momentum as they prepare to face an in-form Gloucester side at the Stoop tomorrow.
Tom Casson’s controversial last-minute try awarded by TMO Graham Hughes, snatched victory from the hands of London Irish last weekend but O’shea believes nothing should be taken away from his team’s spirited performance at the death.
He told The Rugby Paper: “The TMO was the talking point of the game but you have to give the team credit for putting themselves in a position of scoring.
“We had the ball at one stage for three minutes and 20 seconds in very difficult conditions.
“But the boys didn’t give up and managed to make 80 yards and give themselves a chance of winning it.
“It could prove crucial at the end of the season so we’ll take that win and move forward.”
With Captain Chris Robshaw and the in-form duo of Danny Care and Ugo Monye missing, Quins will have their work cut out against a Gloucester side who are undefeated since the opening round of the season.
However, O’shea is confident his side will be too strong the West Country visitors and will not be surrendering their position at the top of the Aviva Premiership.
“Many people go on about how Gloucester are the form team but we are top of the league and we’re playing at home in front of a full house,” he said.
“We’re delighted of where we are and we know we have a lot more to give which is a great place to be.
“We want to be top of the league before the LV Cup starts so we’ll get the job done.”
