Northampton Saints front-row pair sign extensions

have confirmed tighthead prop Paul Hill and hooker Reece Marshall have inked new deals to stay at Franklin’s Gardens.
Hill has represented the club 79 times and will compete for the tighthead berth alongside pending arrival Owen Franks next season.
A member of the Under-20s -winning side of 2014, Hill voiced his determination to produce when called upon in a front row not short of competition.
“I’m really happy to have signed a new contract with Saints,” said Hill, who has won five caps with the senior England side.
“I’m as determined as ever to work hard, keep on improving, and to play as regularly as I can.
“We have plenty of competition to play throughout the squad and the front row is no different; everyone is trying to get better every day and I’m positive this is the best possible environment for me to grow as a player.”
In addition to Hill, Reece Marshall has also committed to Saints by signing a two-year deal.
The academy graduate has made 14 appearances for Chris Boyd’s side this season, scoring three tries and providing impact behind James Fish in the absence of co-captain .
“I’m absolutely delighted to be staying here for at least the next two years,” Marshall told the club’s website.
“I had a tricky start to this season with injury but it’s been amazing to come back from that with the help of everyone at Saints, get opportunities to play and be a part of all the progress we are making here on the field.”
director of Chris Boyd commended the duo for their part in creating a team spirit within the Saints squad.
“They are two very impressive young men; they have an excellent attitude, are always looking to improve and want to fight for their place in the side,” Boyd said.
“It’s really important to keep good young guys like this around the environment, so I’m delighted they are staying on at Saints.”
