2. Schalk Brits – The Saracens hooker is very good in the loose. He’s got great footwork and is devastating in attack. Tough man to get your hands on even if he’s a front rower.
3. Carl Hayman – I played against him when he was at Newcastle and he is a world-class scrummager. Tightheads are crucial to hold the scrum and they don’t come much better than him.
4. Victor Matfield – Another world-class player I was lucky to play against last season when he came to Northampton. What a great lineout caller he was.
5. James Horwill – He is a formidable leader with a huge physical presence around the pitch. He was an instant hit when he arrived at Quins last season.
6. Maurie Fa’asavalu – He was a really aggressive ball carrier with an imposing presence on the field. That’s why he was a big leader in our pack over the years.
7. Luke Wallace – I’ve got to put my mate ‘Mr Nasty’ in there. He was with me and Joe growing up at Haywards Heath. Very underrated still, but a true workhorse.
8. Billy Vunipola – The England and Saracens No.8 is a powerful ball carrier. It looks like he reached a new level last season with club and country.
9. Danny Care – He is our captain at Quins and he is so electrifying around the breakdown. Give him an inch and he’s gone.
10. Nick Evans – Having played with him for a few years now, It’s easy to see why he won All Black caps. He is one of the best ball-playing fly-halves in the world and has done so much for Quins over the years.
11. Ugo Monye – In his pomp, he was such a physical and explosive winger. A true club legend who we missed a lot last season.
12. Jamie Roberts – The Welsh centre is a world-class defender and an unbelievable ball carrier. More often than not he puts our attack on the front foot.
13. Manu Tuilagi – Another hugely physical presence in midfield. He has been unlucky with injuries but when fit he is almost impossible to stop.
14. Alesana Tuilagi – Like his baby brother Manu, he is a huge Samoan. He hit me hard a couple of times but luckily I was a bit quicker and managed to avoid him most of the time!
15. Mike Brown – I’ve learnt a lot from him my whole career and there’s a reason why he’s the most capped full-back in England. I still want his shirt though!
