2. Stephen Moore – The first player in this team from the University of Queensland. Powerful scrummaging hooker, equally as good in the loose and put me in for a long distance try once.
3. Dan Cole – Played with Dan for England U18s, although he looked easily over 30. Solid scrummager and a mature player even then.
4. Nathan Sharpe – Another player returning from injury at UQ, who was happy to play with a load of youngsters. Great bloke on and off the pitch.
5. Simon Raiwalui – A man-mountain. I tried to tackle him in training as a 17-year-old and felt like I’d been run over by a galloping horse.
6. Chevvy Pennycook – Does all the hard work to allow the likes of Mark Bright to make a difference. Unsung hero but favourite player to play with. His secret to success is his avid approach to nutrition.
7. Richard Hill – Quite frankly, always out-performed his opposite number in the Premiership with 1.5 working knees. Another workhorse, and a statesman of the game.
8. Mark Bright – An exceptional player and leader. Knows exactly when and how to impact play to create a real difference within the team. Questionable hairstyle choice however – says the bald guy.
9. Moses Rauluni – One of the nicest blokes at Sarries. Always took an interest in the academy lads. Also, deceptively fast in a moon boot over 50m.
10. Danny Cipriani – Still think he’s the most naturally talented fly-half we have in England, it’s just a shame the system favours a conservative approach.
11. James Tirrell – Promise was cut short at Sarries by terrible knee injuries. Someone who had the X-factor and could create something from nothing. Terrible bloke, though.
12. Matt Giteau – Another UQ acquaintance. You don’t have a law named after you if you’re not phenomenal. Would love to see a Cipriani-Giteau combination.
13. Brian Lima – Played against ‘The Chiropractor’ in an A-League game and genuinely feared for my life. At the time I weighed about 103kgs and an angry Samoan would have made short work of me.
14. Luke Morahan – Mozza was another Aussie who could score from anywhere and regularly did so. His ability to pull out a try-saving tackle was also second-to-none.
15. Andrew Walker – Played at Easts in Brisbane and even at 35 he carved up. I’ve never seen someone make so many dominant one-on-one tackles following a line-break.
