2. Jack Walker – He’s only 19 but he’s been our best player week-in, week-out. It won’t be long before he plays international rugby for England. Got great skills to match the basics and could probably do a job at fly-half.
3. Rob O’Donnell – A huge man but he moves around the park really well, carrying and tackling really hard. One of those tightheads who like to dominate other people on the field.
4. Matt Challinor – An old- school lock who’s definitely the enforcer in any team he plays for. He’s been outstanding for Doncaster for years now.
5. Chris Jones – He joined Carnegie last season and had a massive influence on our lineout. Very experienced player and great to have around the squad.
6. Adam Kleeberger – I played with the bearded Canadian at Rotherham and he just never stops. He’s got a massive engine on him and can tackle all game long.
7. Tinus du Plessis – Another former Titans flanker we’ve just seen at the World Cup. The Namibian is like Adam and tackles anything and everything that comes down his channel. Good over the ball too.
8. Lawrence Pearce – The size of the guy! He’s just a freak and really strong too. Impossible to stop when on the front foot. Such a shame he had so many injuries when he was at Rotherham.
9. Gavin Gattle – I faced him a few times over the years and it seems like he’s at the heartbeat of everything the Pirates do well. Great player.
10. Tommy Bell – He was only 15 when he turned up in the Carnegie first team and quickly you could see he was special. Can run the game so well and win it with his running ability.
11. Dave Doherty – Big friend of mine but his pace is amazing. One of those wingers who will finish the little opportunity you give him.
12. Juan Pablo Socino – Another one who’s at the Falcons now. Everything we did when I was at the Titans was going through Juan. Won us so many games with his boot. Phenomenal talent.
13. Pete Lucock – A lot more skilful than people tend to give him credit for. Outstanding for Carnegie over the years.
14. Jonah Holmes – This kid is just a freak. He can create anything from nothing. He’s a great finisher and that’s all I can say about him really.
15. Rob Cook – Used to have a unique kicking style. Always seemed to be everywhere on the pitch and be a real pain for the kickers in my team.
