1. Eric Fry – The big polar bear! The former London Scottish prop is one of the hardest trainers I know. He will do well up at Newcastle in the Premiership.
2. Jack Yeandle – We play together at Exeter now but we first crossed paths at Doncaster a few years ago. A great hooker who gives the best pre-scrum taps on the bum!
3. Fraser Balmain – I have played against the Leicester tighthead since we were in primary school. He is a very underrated player but I can’t say much more without making him look too good…
4. Matt Challinor – The Kights captain is made out of granite! Someone I never wanted to tackle at training when I was at Doncaster. As a lock, he the man you want to have behind you at the scrum though!
5. Damian Welch – The Exeter lock is a big guy who you can always be relied on when it comes to lineouts. Despite his size he’s got an incredible turn of speed too!
6. Dave Ewers – I like my back-rowers big, and at 125kg he is perfect! He is like a wrecking ball when he carries and has a great engine for a big’un.
7. Mark Bright – Great teammate and captain from London Scottish who scores tries for fun! Normally a No.8 but he had to be in my team.
8. Thomas Waldrom – I can always trust a fellow Thomas, and the tank is no different. He’s another big No.8 who loves to carry. Choo choo!
9. Danny Care – Faced him last week down at Sandy Park and he’s the quickest scrum-half I’ve played against. You never know what he is going to do when he has the ball, a real livewire.
10. Alex Lozowski – The Wasps fly-half was a fellow student at Leeds University. Hell of a boot on him and seriously quick for a No.10. He turned down Chelsea football for rugby… He’s got a big future ahead of him. Watch this space!
11. Miles Mantella – Magic Miles, A try-scoring machine for London Scottish. I’m still bitter he didn’t share any of those meat pies with me last season though…
12. Sam Hill – Hilly is such a rock in attack and defence. He gets better every week with the Chiefs and has got to be on England’s radar.
13. Fred Burdon – He is a great friend from Doncaster. One of the most vocal and intelligent players I’ve ever been on a pitch with. No wonder he got a 1st class Degree from Cambridge.
14. Niki Goneva – Speed, power, agility – he is such a threat in attack and defence. Definitely someone who can win games on his own.
15. Jack Nowell – Jack is a naturally-gifted rugby player with a great work ethic but it’s such a shame about the terror lid! So good to see him coming back to full fitness after his injury.
