Dream Team

Dream Team: Mark Bright – London Scottish and former Tasman Makos No.8

Mark Bright1. Ben Franks – Top Bloke on and off the field. The star is an unreal trainer and scrummager with the work-rate of a back rower.
2. Corey Flynn – Tough competitor who owned the No.2 Jersey for the Crusaders and for a long time before moving to Toulouse in the Top14 this summer.
3. Ben I played with Ben during my time at the Tasman Makos back home. His scrummaging and workrate were top draw. A great team man who loves a gym session.
4. Brad Thorn – Had the chance to play with Brad for Tasman. An unreal guy who is very modest but bloody hard working. Still going today at the age of 39, just says it all really.
5. Chris Jack – Was an All Black for a long time and another of my former Tasman teammates in this team. A top bloke who was a great lineout operator
6. Liam Messam – The captain is a quality backrower who is at home in both forms of the game. or fifteens, he can do both.
7. Richie McCaw – The All Blacks captain is a brilliant leader and even a better player. He has done it all and won all there is to win in the game.
8. Rodney So’oialo – A very tough No.8 with a great skill set. Rodney played all three back row positions whether it was for the All Blacks, or the – sign of a great player.
9. Kahn Fotuali’i – I played with the -half for four seasons at the Makos. A great No.9 who has made it all the way to captaining his country. A strong defender and an awesome bloke.
10. Aaron Cruden – A world class fly-half who seems to have all the time in the world ball in hand. A great goal kicker and reader of the game too.
11. Rico Gear – Top class winger with deadly finishing skills. A great man on and off the field, too.
12. Ma’a Nonu – Not surprised that he is regarded as the best 12 in . Among many things, he is a destructive ball carrier.
13. Tana Umaga – This All Black legend was a great leader for both club and country. A big ball carrier and superb defender in the midfield over a number of years.
14. Rene Ranger – Currently playing for in the Top 14, the former Auckland Blues wing has the X-Factor. A destructive ball runner and a tough defender go past. He is like another backrower at the breakdown
15. Cory Jane – I first played against him when he was playing at full-back for Hawkes Bay back in the day. An attacking threat whenever he has the ball in hand and a very funny guy off the field too.
