1. James Slipper – Played against him and the Wallabies in the 2011 World Cup. Solid in the set-piece and mobile around the pitch.
2. Phil Thiel – The Eagles hooker is the best freestyle rapper to grace the rugby pitch, enough said.
3. Matt Stevens – I stepped into the No.1 jersey for the first time against the Saxons, Matt ensured I left the pitch with some of my most embarrassing moments in the scrum. I’ve been using those memories as fuel ever since.
4. Nathan Sharpe – A dynamic player who brings a ton of experience with over 100 caps for Australia. He’s excellent in the air and has an innate ball handling ability.
5. Samu Manoa – Absolute monster. He’s a ruthless tackler and just as dangerous with ball in hand. His secret? He can’t help but stop at McDonald’s on his way home from nearly every training session.
6. Todd Clever – I have never not seen the Eagles captain put his complete self into games. He’s a true leader in both words and actions, with the skill and athleticism to back it up on the field.
7. Scott Lavalla – The Stade man is known as “friendly fire” for his uncanny ability to hand out injuries in training. But he makes up for it as he is a must have on tours – he knows someone everywhere! Want a steak in Biarritz? He knows the owner of the best steakhouse…
8. Nick Crosswell – The Hurricanes No.8 is one of the few players who doesn’t even need a jersey to play, and with a nice full hair vest why would he?
9. Aaron Smith – He has a quick and accurate pass plus his agility and speed make him a danger at the fringes of the breakdown.
10. Quade Cooper – Immensely talented player with a phenomenal range of skills. His explosive step make him very dangerous.
11. Drew Mitchell – Among his many skills is a great ability to find the try line which makes him crucial.
12. Billy Twelvetrees – With a name like that how he could not make the list. It sounds like the name of a knight out of a legend who was named after he felled twelve trees with a single blow from his mighty sword. Good player too.
13. Paul Emerick – I’ll forever think of him as Hercules. Named by my flatmate after he was discovered shirtless and with a long mane of blond hair searching for water in my kitchen. The water was never found, but a bottle of whisky led them to playing Dueling Banjos on the guitar for the next 3 hours.
14. Blaine Scully – On and off the pitch his work ethic is unparalleled. The amount of determination and his pure athleticism will ensure those who don’t already know his name soon will.
15. Kurtley Beale – His chip and chase and his uncanny ability to make line breaks gives him the ability to turn the match in an instant.
