Dream Team: Leo Halavatau – London Irish prop

  2. Dream Team

1. Max Lahiff – I think Max will go far. He is probably the strongest player I have ever played with or against and he is still so young. Has everything a prop needs, apart from a proper haircut.
2. David Paice – I have opted for experience alongside Max and David has been around for a long time. Wears his heart on his sleeve and you know he will keep going and going.
3. Ngalu Tau – The oldest prop I know who was still going strong well into his forties when I was playing with him at Birmingham. Knows every trick in the book and is not afraid to use them. Not a person you want to meet at the bottom of a ruck!
4. Bob Casey – A good guy to have behind you as a prop because he is going to push all day long. Also a great leader and inspires everyone around him.
5. Craig Gillies – Whenever I’ve played , he has been a real pain  – seems to always nick our ball and is not a guy you want to cross in a hurry.
6. Declan Danaher – Declan is an openside but refuses to wear the No.7 shirt because he has twice been injured in it so I have put him at six. An out and out workhorse who is a real character off the field and full of superstitions.
7. Akapusi Qera – Never turn your back on this guy because if you leave your ribs exposed, he can break you in half. He has got that Islander hard-hitting philosophy and if you give him the chance he will nail you.
8. Chris Hala’ufia – Makes it over the gain line every time which is what you want in your No.8. A player you would absolutely hate to be playing against.
9. Darren Allinson – Another one I am tipping for big things at Irish. Has got so much potential – his distribution is superb, has a great work rate, and makes his share of cover tackles.
10. Carlos Spencer – I was playing for the Bees when he was at and he was out of this world. We could not lay a hand on him.
11. Sailosi Tagicakibau – Someone who has got the whole package of speed, skill and strength. I am expecting a big season from him at Irish.
12. Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu – Has the strength and skill to test any defence.  Despite his reputation on Twitter, he is an intelligent guy with a law degree.
13. Jonathan Joseph –  A phenomenal rise from playing for last year to winning a full cap this summer. And I think he will keep getting better.
14. Viliame Iongi – A Jason Robinson type player who has unreal footwork and blistering pace. He tore us to pieces when we played the last season.
15. Ben Foden – There are certain players you never want to be left one-on-one with and Foden is one of those. Whenever we play Northampton he impresses.
