Dream Team: Dean Schofield – Worcester and former Sale & Toulon lock

Dean Schofield1. Eifion Lewis-Roberts – I played with him at and . He’s one of the most powerful props I’ve come across and to go with it, he’s an extremely good ball-carrier.
2. Ed Shervington – His throwing skills are fantastic and his ball carrying is very effective. I’m playing with him at and he’s a great guy to have around.
3. Carl Hayman – A former All Black star and in my opinion the best tighthead prop in the world. He’s a great all rounder, and when I played at Toulon with him he was awesome – I don’t think he has any weaknesses.
4. Simon Shaw – He has a vast amount of experience and brings huge knowledge from tours and World Cups. A tower in the lineout and very strong around the pitch.
5. Bakkies Botha –  Similar to Shaw, he brings an edge to the team which you need when you have your backs to the wall. Great guy on and off the pitch.
6. Jonathan Thomas – He’s my skipper at Worcester and has strong leadership qualities. He’s a very good ball carrier, very strong in the tackle and  would strengthen any side.
7. George Smith – Excellent technical ability and an uncanny knack of expertly controlling the ball when it pops loose. His skills are as good as plenty of fly-halves!
8. Sebastien Chabal – What a player! Brings the X-factor to any pack of forwards. He has wonderful ball carrying skills, is very strong in the lineout and is the biggest tackler I’ve ever   played with.
9. Richard Wigglesworth – His pace is a fantastic attribute and his leadership qualities are excellent. He’s also got a great pass on him and some pretty lively footwork – top all-round No.9.
10. Charlie Hodgson – A superb fly-half who plays very flat and creates so many holes for forwards to run into. He’s a great kicker and amasses a huge amount of points.
11. Mark Cueto – He’s the leading try scorer in the and that says it all about his finishing ability.
12. Matt Giteau – He’s incredibly skilful and can create something out of nothing. He’s very quick as well and he’s a very solid kicker which sometimes he doesn’t get credit for.
13. Graeme Bond – I played with him at Sale and what a great experience that was. He was a brilliant centre who always managed to find a gap in the defence and backed it up with great offloads. So many try scoring opportunities were created because of him.
14. Steve Hanley – Prolific try-scorer, only recently overtaken by Cueto, and you could rely on him to find the try line. When he received the ball out wide there was usually just one outcome.
15. Jason Robinson – He’s a hero, a Lions star, and a Great Britain RL icon. I won the Premiership with him at Sale and he was a wonder- ful captain. Ridiculous foot work and electric pace left defences clueless.
