Dream Team: Junior Paramore – former Bedford, Gloucester and Samoa No.8

Junior Paramore1. Rodrigo Roncero – Roddy is such a committed player, you know you can rely on him. Quiet, but once he’s had a few drinks he opens up a bit.
2. Trevor Leota – He is such a team man. Every time he played for Samoa he would be crying like a baby before hand, it’s just such a big passion for him.
3. Peter Fatialofa – My captain for the 1991 and a great leader. When I was playing regional in he was the one who came up and asked me if I wanted to play for the Samoa national team. It was such an honour.
4. Scott Murray – I played with Scott when we were at Bedford and he was one of the young boys. He was fantastic, everything that was said to him he would go and do it.
5. Martin Johnson – I had a good punch-up with him in a semi-. There were two minutes to go, we were behind and I tried to grab the ball off him after the referee had blown the whistle but he pushed me off so I swung at him.
6. Roy Winters – I played No.8 and he played six, and if I was getting a bit tired, I would take a breather while he did the tackles.
7. Michael Jones – When I was growing up in New Zealand I would look up to him. He was a very Christian person and great to have around.
8. A very good captain – everything with Pat is about the passion. It was a privilege to play with him for Samoa.
9. Andy Gomarsall – He was always happy to play alongside me at , I looked after him well. Seriously, he was a fantastic player. He was also good at getting a poker game going.
10. Stephen Bachop – He played for Samoa in the 1991 World Cup and controlled the game at times.  He put us in the right spaces when you needed to attack.
11. George Harder – He came into the 1995 Samoa World Cup squad a relative unknown and ended up playing for . He just loved the gym; he had a massive body but no calves.
12. To’o Vaega – To’o was one of the true professionals even when rugby was still amateur. Everything he did was full on. He scored a try when Samoa beat Wales in the World Cup in 1991.
13. Tony Marsh – I was so surprised that he played for France but he does look a bit like a Frenchman. He was a great tackler, and if you needed to go forward you would just give him the ball.
14. James Simpson-Daniel – You looked at him with his massive quads and you just thought, he should be Samoan built like that. It’s a shame with his injuries, he could definitely have played more games for .
15. Thinus Delport – Just an all round fantastic player and the most awesome player to play with. He’s still playing the charity games.
