1. John Afoa – The big Kiwi combines power with a great skill set for a prop and he has been a top acquisition for Ulster – he’s always good craic to have around.
2. Rory Best – Roomed with him for Ulster schools and lived with him for a year. A key member of the Ulster and Ireland side but he ruined my career with a diet of Coca-Cola and Dominos!
3. Halani Aulika – In for his try scoring record last season and the strength he brings to the front row. He also loves a Mohawk haircut!
4. Johan Muller – Probably the most important signing made by Ulster in recent years. His professionalism and ruthlessness have driven the team forward no end. Also a great captain.
5. Jim Hamilton – I loved Monday night rugby with him at Leicester. He has since gone on to show how good he is at international level. And he sends some good Snapchats….
6. Stevie Ferris – aka ‘the white islander’. Stevie is the most dynamic carrier and biggest hitter I’ve ever had the fortune of playing with and regularly turned a game on its head with his powerful line breaks. He’s never scared to say what’s on his mind either.
7. Ofisa Treviranus – He’s quiet off the pitch but on it he’s very different. He’s another huge ball carrier and physical in defence. He’s got a Sevens background so has very good skill set to boot.
8. Chris Hala’ufia – Quite possibly the scariest man I’ve ever come across. Kuli loves a big hit and has a good offload which makes him hard to defend.
9. Darren Allinson – Top bloke with sensational skills and a beautiful left peg – he’s a great half-back partner to have. He’s got great banter as well so follow him @darrenallinson9.
10. Ruan Pienaar – Ruan is just a magician anywhere on the pitch, a world class player and he’s done wonders for Ulster along with Johann. And because Allinson helped me pick my team Ruan slots in at fly-half.
11. Alex Tuilagi – Virtually unplayable when at his very best, he scores some incredible individual tries. So much power and pace, he was a fantastic servant for Tigers.
12. Paddy Wallace – He was a joy to have in the same team as he would make my job so much easier with his kicking and distribution. He was also always keen to try new things on the pitch and that’s a great attribute to have.
13. Seru Rabeni – Another Fijian beast and great servant for Leicester. He could play wing or centre and was another destructive carrier who loved a big hit.
14. Simon Danielli – Tough choice but Danzer gets the nod because he loves Mario Kart and was a brilliant Roomie for two years. On the pitch he wasn’t bad either – a lethal finisher.
15. Geordan Murphy – A classy full-back who had all the attributes to play the position to the highest standards. He was a game changer so many times for Leicester and Ireland.
