  2. Dream Team

1. Tom Smith – Worked  hard on his scrummaging and got the better of some huge Springbok props for the 1997 .
2. Mark Regan – Could have been Graham Dawe or Gordon Bulloch, but there was no one better at winding up the opposition than Mark. He was also great to alongside.
3. Victor Ubogu –  Known as a ball carrier throughout his career and also developed into one of the best scrummagers in the world.
4. Doddie Weir – Played together for four or five years with . He was incredible in the lineout and despite being quite light, was a very good scrummager.
5. Gareth Llewellyn – Anyone who gets as many caps as Gareth did for has to be a very good player. We played together at and you can guarantee that with him and Doddie we wouldn’t lose any lineouts.
6. Jason White – Had an incredible work rate and always stepped it up in the big games. You made sure he was on your team in training, just to avoid those big hits.
7. Andy Robinson – Hard, aggressive flanker and a great teammate at . Unfortunate to have coincided with Neil Back so he missed out on more caps.
8. Eric Peters – He changed the way I looked at No.8s. I thought they just had to be  huge guys, but he played with such intelligence. Huge shame that he retired due to a knee injury when at his peak.
9. Garry Armstrong – A brilliant leader, and the way he came back from a serious knee injury to become one of the best in the world again was so impressive.
10. Stuart One of the best ever. It took me years to learn the Bath game plan was because I just relied on Stuart to tell me where to go. He ran everything and knows the game inside out.
11. Ieuan Evans – Just edges out Tony Swift. Ieuan didn’t have the out and out gas but he was an intelligent ball-playing winger and was brilliant at Bath.
12. Jerry was just a different class at centre, he used to glide while the rest of us would be plodding along, and he wasn’t bad at stealing tries either – I remember one at Quins where I was sure I was going to score only for him to pop up and sprint over before I knew what was going on.
13. One of the most naturally talented players I’ve played with, and could play in so many positions.
14. Kenny Logan – Perfect guy to have opposite Ieuan. He had real pace and power and was also a really great guy to have in the squad.
15. Gavin Hastings – You’d have to go some way to find a more intelligent full-back. His kicking was incredible and he was brilliant coming into the line as well.
