Jacques Vermeulen, who is eligible for England having been in the UK since 2019, has dreamed of playing for the Springboks since a boy but he wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to wear the Red Rose should the call from Rassie Erasmus never come.
Vermeulen, below, who signed for Exeter Chiefs from the Sharks, could follow in the footsteps of his club-mate Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and play for England despite being born in a different country.
