ON THE BLINDSIDE
England backrow Sam Underhill has been attracting interest from French Top 14 giants Racing 92 and Bordeaux, who are interested in luring him away from Bath next summer.
Underhill, 27, who was born in the United States, moved to Bath in 2017 after impressing for the Ospreys in the Pro 12 following his departure from Gloucester and has made 79 appearances.
He was initially left out of Steve Borthwick‘s World Cup but was called up from the cold after Jack Willis suffered a neck injury during England’s win over Chile.
Both Racing and Bordeaux are looking for a physical back-rower who is sound defensively, which matches Underhill’s profile. A move would, however, make him ineligible for Borthwick next season.
Meanwhile, another who could be in his last season at The Rec is England tight-head Will Stuart who is attracting interest from their arch-West Country rivals Gloucester.
