Ealing Trailfinders are still looking to strengthen their squad for next season despite finding their path to the Premiership being blocked by the RFU.
Rumours are that Ealing has offered London Irish lock Josh Caulfield, 25, who has also played for Wasps and Cornish Pirates, a deal worth £80,000 a year to drop down into the Championship next season.
Caulfield played 16 games for The Exiles last season and was named in the starting line-up for the Premiership Cup final defeat at the hands of another of his former clubs, Exeter Chiefs, in March.
