Tom Ellis started the season with Bath but was guaranteed to finish his Saturday with a Premiership winner’s medal in his kit bag, whoever won the game.
Ellis, 28, made 13 appearances for Bath before a six-game stint with Saracens but was on the bench for Sale Sharks at Twickenham after signing a shortterm deal with Alex Sanderson’s side.
Blindside understands, however, that Ellis has played enough games for both teams this season to qualify for a winner’s medal from either of the two sides.
