England lock Maro Itoje has been warned to lower his salary expectations when his current deal with Saracens runs out at the end of next season.
The Lions star is said to be on the radar of clubs in France and Japan, along with Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith who is also coming into the final 12 months of his current deal.
Itoje is one of the best-paid players in the Premiership on £900,000 a season plus £25,000 in match fees for every game he plays for England, which would stop if he moved abroad.
