Baxter sets his sights on Falcons fly-half

Exeter Chiefs are in advanced talks with Newcastle Falcons and Wasps fly-half Will Haydon-Wood as Rob Baxter looks to replace France-bound Joe Simmonds next season.
Former England U20 international Haydon-Wood, who spent two seasons with the Falcons, played four games for Wasps before moving to Pro D2 outfit Massy Essonne in December.
The 22-year-old will be a direct replacement for Simmonds, whose move to Pau hasn’t yet been confirmed but is happening, and Baxter is stepping up his recruitment.
