Cheika cuts links with Japanese outfit

Michael Cheika has parted company with Japanese outfit NEC Green Rockets, where he was director of rugby after it emerged he had spent just 36 days in Japan.
The Argentina boss, the 2015 World Rugby coach of the year, was contracted to spend 180 days a year at the Green Rockets, but his heavy workload kept him away.
Cheika has been linked with becoming Steve Borthwick’s replacement at Leicester, while another Australian name on the list was Dan McKellar. McKellar has, however, pledged his immediate future to the Wallabies after talks with new boss Eddie Jones last week.
