Leicester Tigers are pressing ahead with their recruitment plans for next season and are bidding to take Josh Bassett to Welford Road.
The Tigers have already agreed on a deal with London Irish flyer Ollie Hassell-Collins for next season and now have got Bassett, 30, in their sights.
Luton-born Bassett, above, is playing for Harlequins after leaving Wasps when the club went bust in October.
The former England U20 flyer is under contract to Harlequins until the end of the season and Leicester, who are set to lose coach Steve Borthwick to England, are keen.
