Diamond blames system, not refs

STEVE Diamond has called for more transparency over decisions made by match officials after being slapped with a sixmatch ban for a rant after Newcastle’s lastgasp defeat at Exeter three weeks ago.
Falcons’ director of rugby Diamond was furious Greg Fisilau’s winning try was allowed to stand having claimed the television match officials should have picked up an act of foul play on Alex Hearle in the build-up that dislodged the wing’s gum shield from his mouth and set off the concussion beeper.
