The University of Edinburgh has discovered through research and by watching and comparing 18,702 tackles that took place in 60 community rugby matches in 2022/23 – after the introduction of a new low tackle law that was trialled by World Rugby in 2023/24 – a reduction in the number of head collisions in the community game.
