IT was more through luck than judgement that I ended up playing for Saracens. I was playing for my local rugby club in Woodford one Saturday after noon, got spotted, and was asked to play for Eastern Counties U21s the next day because they’d had an injury at fly-half. In those days it wasn’t unusual to play Saturday/Sunday, so I thought nothing of it and jumped at the chance.
