I TURNED up at Saracens as a skinny late developer, all 92kgs (14st 7lbs) of me, when most second rows are at least 115 to 125kgs (18-19st 7lbs). A lot of the lads were already in academies, whereas that route had bypassed me and I’d been playing social rugby with my mates at Dorking. I had a lot of growth and a lot of catching up to do.
