TV deal will boost women’s game

THERE are two ways of looking at the BBC’s latest foray into rugby broadcasting: a deal securing exclusive rights to next year’s Women’s World Cup, which will begin with an opening match in Sunderland and end with a final – almost certain to feature England and either New Zealand or France – at the stadium formerly known as Twickenham (a form of words instantly recognisable to followers of the late rock star Prince).
