Steve Borthwick hopes to name an unchanged side when England meet New Zealand at Dunedin next week after a comfortable victory over Japan in the uncomfortable Tokyo heat last weekend.
It would mean Marcus Smith remaining at outside-half, which is splitting opinion despite the Harlequins standing out against Japan. He scored one try and had two assists but more telling was the way he played the conditions, displaying the pragmatism his detractors claim he lacks.
