A warm sunny day greeted the Ukrainian team as they arrived at Havirov RFC for their match against the Czech Republic.
The Czech team stood second in the table for Men’s Europe Trophy Competition before the match having played with an experienced and settled side throughout the tournament.
In contrast, the Ukraine squad was almost completely changed from their previous matches, had six players making their debut and more than half the squad had not played a competitive game for six weeks.
