We need bigger squads to reduce playing time

I’d really like my grandkids to be able to play and watch rugby, but I’m far from sure that they will be able to do that. I’m sick and tired of using the phrase “existential threat”, and I have no doubt that when World Rugby repeatedly chants the mantra “player welfare”, they have the very best of intentions, but things aren’t moving quickly enough.
That’s the inherent problem with World Rugby as an organisation – it spends its life trying to square circles, and right now it’s struggling with what appear to be differing views on head contact in different geographies.
