All hail the Lelos for recording a famous 28-19 win over Italy last Sunday in a feisty match at the splendid refurbished rugby-specific Batumi stadium in Georgia’s second city, an ancient coastal resort town known as the Las Vegas of the Black Sea for its nightlife and betting emporiums.
It was a terrific colourful occasion that any rugby fan would have enjoyed, and the result adds yet more credence to the argument that if the Six Nations is going to be extended as Europe’s elite rugby competition, they are first in line.
