I WAS a couple of years into my rugby career, and already capped, when I had two contracts on the table in front of me – one in the NFL from Minnesota Vikings and one from Bath. The former is still up on my wall at home, but unsigned, the other I returned to John Hall the then director of rugby for Bath, and to this day I am grateful for his recruitment and friendship.
