There was an incident in a recent Super Rugby match between the Brumbies and the Western Force that illustrates perfectly what a mess rugby is in over high tackles.
Video of the incident is widely available, but in essence it’s really simple: the Force’s Toni Pulu is heading for the line at speed, and the Brumbies’ Tom Banks sprints across to put in what appeared to be a try-saving tackle.
