Brendan Gallagher continues his series looking at rugby’s great schools

Although also an enthusiastic football school, Haileybury College, just a few miles south west of Hertford, were quick to embrace rugby and, indeed, produced a very early England international in John Batten who was a star turn at the school before moving onto St John’s College Cambridge.
