ENGLAND scrumhalf Ben Spencer last week took advantage of the good weather before the start of pre-season training with Bath to play golf in the Welsh Open pro-am.
Spencer took part in the Gareth Bale-supported event at the Celtic Manor course near Newport. Bale is the brother in law of Wales No.8 Taulupe Faletau, who is currently away in South Africa with the Lions.
Spencer was joined by Exeter Chiefs fly-half Joe Simmonds who, along with brother Sam, is a big fan of the sport, on the course that hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup.
