The size of rugby players has grown in the last 25 years to the point where centres are now the height and weight of second rows in the amateur era, but one position has been considerably less affected than all the others.
The pre-requisites for a scrumhalf are an ability to get the ball away quickly from a ruck, kick with precision and have an eye for a gap rather than bulging biceps and an ability to storm the gainline.
