I WAS delighted to see that James Down got his new career in Russia off to a flying start last week. Having not been offered a new contract at Cardiff Blues he didn’t drop his head or sulk, he broadened his horizons and grabbed with both hands the chance to play for Lokomotiv Prenza.
A few days after his amazing journey to the city that sits 400 miles south east of Moscow he helped his new team beat the reigning champions to take over at the top of the table. It took me back to the time when I arrived in Japan for my last rugby adventure.
